History of Omega The time keeping saga of Omega watches traces its origin to 1848 when Louis Brandt started making assembled pocket watches in his small shop at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. One of the most prestigious brands of the Swatch Group, Omega watches created history when it crossed the frontiers of earth to reach moon in the 1960s! The Omega Seamaster series made headlines for being the wristlet of the legendary James Bond in many Hollywood movies besides being the trusted timepieces of elegance and precision that catered high end sports events. Beyond movies and moon, Omega is also an excellent dress watch- particularly the Constellation and the DeVille models. True to its name, the Seamaster series is exclusively for water sports enthusiasts and other aquatic professions such as divers and sailors. This heavy duty timepiece is packed with endurance and power to withstand the many under water challenges. The watches are easily identifiable by their bright dial and brilliant hour markers that ensure easy comprehension even in the dark, deep interiors of oceans. There are many models such as chronographs, regatta timers, GMT chronometers in this series.
